**A GERT Gives Back campaign of The Poston Foundation**

Books That Inspire Children. Support That Gives Back.

GERT Makes Waves is The Poston Foundation’s book-centered charitable campaign connecting the Gert the SEE Turtle children’s book series with children’s literacy, sponsored book and educational-resource outreach, age-appropriate coastal education, and documented sea-turtle and coastal-conservation purposes. GERT stands for “General Education with Respect to Turtles.”

## Ways to participate

- **Get a Book With Your Gift:** a qualifying charitable contribution may include an optional GERT book donor benefit.
- **Give a GERT Book:** support sponsored distribution to young readers, classrooms, libraries, families, or community programs.
- **Shop the GERT Books:** normal retail purchases are handled separately through GertTheSeeTurtle.com or approved retail channels and are not charitable donations.
- **Give Without a Book:** make a charitable contribution without receiving a donor benefit.

## Stewardship

When a supporter receives a book or collection in connection with a contribution, the fair market value of the donor benefit should be reflected in applicable transaction records and receipts. Retail book purchases remain separate from charitable gifts. The Foundation does not promise a fixed conservation percentage unless a specific allocation is formally approved and documented.
