Homeless Man Receives Unexpected Surprise
WACH FOX 57 documented early Carolina Cares direct-aid work in Columbia during the COVID-19 pandemic. The report followed Chris Davis after job loss and homelessness and described practical assistance that included a cell phone, clothing and documents for job applications, and outreach to prospective employers. Davis later secured employment in Greenville.
Historical context: Carolina Cares began as a direct community-assistance effort in 2020 and is now operated as a program of The Poston Foundation.
